Catalina Viejo Lopez de Roda www.catalinaviejo.com catalina_viejo@yahoo.com 617-953-1370 "La Amistad (The Friendship)" acrylic on panel 36 x 48 inches Kudos from Mitchell Albala: "La Amistad" engaged me on multiple levels: On the narrative level, I was intrigued by the mystery of the relationship between its subjects. On the formal level, I found the integration of a multiple figure composition into an interior to be very successful. The use of saturated color juxtaposed with areas of rich black added an extra-dimensional quality to the composition. My eye continues to move from color to color, up the stairs, into the shadows, across the walls, and from figure to figure. |
